In July 2013 the night parrot was arguably undeniably rediscovered as evidenced by photographic and video evidence obtained by John Young. Prior to this the species had brief mention on the original WLMD website. The night parrot had been called the "Tasmanian tiger of the skies".

In due course I hope to expand this section to document the amazing re-discovery of this elusive bird and its ongoing management. These events could be indicative of issues that might be encountered were the Tasmanian tiger (thylacine) rediscovered in the wild.
